Clayton is an associate attorney with Dowd & Dowd and advises clients in a wide variety of personal injury claims, including those injured in commercial vehicle crashes involving semi-trucks, products liability claims, copyright infringement and other professional liability cases including, legal malpractice and medical malpractice. Clayton has taken pride in working on complex litigation alongside Tab Turner and the Osen Law Firm representing military members and their families who have lost a loved one or have been severely injured by an explosively formed penetrating device (EFP) while serving in Iraq or Afghanistan. In response, our firm, along with Mr. Turner and the Osen Law Firm, filed suit against the country of Iran and several banks for funding the manufacturing and distribution of these EFPs to State Sponsored Terrorist Organizations, such as Hezbollah.

Clayton is the great grandson of Major Edward P. Dowd, who was a distinguished member of the Mounted Police force for the City of St. Louis for 42 years. He is the grandson of Dowd & Dowd’s founder, Edward L. Dowd, who served in the FBI from 1942 to 1946. Edward L. Dowd founded Dowd & Dowd, P.C. in 1957. Clayton is the son of Dowd & Dowd’s President, Douglas P. Dowd, who has been practicing law since 1978 and has recovered millions of dollars for his clients throughout his years of litigation.

Clayton is a graduate of the University of Missouri – Columbia where he received his Bachelor’s degree. Clayton worked at Dowd & Dowd as a paralegal prior to attending law school. He graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law with a concentration in civil litigation. During law school, Clayton received the Academic Excellence Award for Advanced Dispute Resolution for achieving the highest grade in the class.
